Can heat be detected accurately with sense of touch?
We found the answer to the question with a simple hands-on activity. I got 4A children to test it out with warm, cold and tap water. They had to insert their hands into the different tubs of water simultaneously and then explain what they just felt. This got them to think about the use of thermometer in measuring heat. From there, I continued to teach more about the various thermometers and the right technique to read off temperature with the help of real thermometers and PPT slides. Here are some snap shots of us...
