Can heat be detected accurately with sense of touch?

We found the answer to the question with a simple hands-on activity. I got 4A children to test it out with warm, cold and tap water. They had to insert their hands into the different tubs of water simultaneously and then explain what they just felt. This got them to think about the use of thermometer in measuring heat. From there, I continued to teach more about the various thermometers and the right technique to read off temperature with the help of real thermometers and PPT slides. Here are some snap shots of us...

Decimals...

I introduced the concept of decimals by infusing CL strategy into an activity that got the pupils to internalize the tenths. Look how we did it...

Young Authors Award Finalist...

I'm honoured to announce that 4A is preveleged to have a Young Author amongst us. Celest Tan of 4A was selected to be one of the top 50 finalists among several hundred young writers who part in the Young Authors Award Competition. Our principal Mr Chia, myself and ten other 4A children were there to on the day of Award Ceremony to lend our support to Celest. We are all very proud of your achievement Celest. Keep writing...you have already inspired many to write.

Our Sports Meet....

4A children showed off great team spirit and determination on this day. They were able to show that they could also excel in sports with continual training and will power. We managed to win several medals and most of all we had a wonderful time as a class watching the entire school cheer for their competitors. We came back and celebrated our victory as class. Those who did not win any medals, took it very well. They knew it was not about winning all the time. It was about togetherness and perseverance. I'm proud of you children!
