(27 July - Problem Sums)Revision on Skill Set 1 - Analysing Parts & Whole

** Rember to draw the part whole model for both questions.
1) A shopkeeper had 4985 pens and 16 207 pencils in his shop. He sold 2680 pens and 7986 pencils. He then threw away 16 faulty pens. What was the total number of pens and pencils left in the end?

2) A study desk cost $387 and a cupboard cost twice as much as the study desk. Sam bought 1 study desk and 2 cupboards. If he had $3000 at first, how much money would Sam have left?
